Our Mission

At Booksthakam Foundation, we recognize that the well-being of writers is critical to their ability to contribute meaningfully to society. In an age where writing demands a full-time commitment yet often provides only part-time rewards, our mission is to elevate writing as a respected profession. We strive to foster a culture where reading and writing are valued, not only as luxuries for the privileged but as accessible avenues for all—especially those who can only dream of becoming published authors.

Our Vision

Our foundation is committed to ensuring that writing is seen as a legitimate career path, akin to other white-collar professions, by promoting reading and writing from a young age. These skills are not just forms of personal expression but essential tools for building individuals and communities. Research has consistently shown that literacy, through reading and writing, plays a transformative role in societal growth.

Imagination that grows within

The Journey

The Booksthakam Foundation is a public trust dedicated to the well-being of writers across India. Booksthakam Publishers was founded by seven writers who envisioned a platform rooted in transparency and author-friendly practices. From the beginning, the publishing industry recognized Booksthakam for its unique, writer-centric approach.

A defining moment arrived in 2021 when Joshua Bejoy became India’s youngest bestselling author through Booksthakam, earning national recognition and global acclaim. This success not only established Booksthakam as a catalyst for literary excellence but also expanded its presence to 16 countries, making its books and services accessible worldwide. Inspired by this growth, the stakeholders began drafting the blueprint for the Booksthakam Foundation, transforming the vision from a commercial publishing entity into a public trust focused on service and community well-being.

By 2024, the transition was complete. Just as Booksthakam began with seven writers, the foundation was established by seven philanthropists from diverse fields, united by their shared goal of giving back to society through literature. The creation of the foundation reflects our core mission: to act as a public trust that uplifts writers and communities, putting service before commerce.

At the Booksthakam Foundation, we are committed to nurturing talent, supporting writers, fostering a love for reading, and empowering communities. Our goal is to ensure that literature becomes a driving force for positive societal change and personal growth.

Annual Milestones: The Numbers That Drive Our Mission

2500

We are proud to have 2,500 student volunteers across Kerala working passionately to promote a culture of reading and writing. They actively engage in schools, colleges, and communities, spreading awareness and supporting the dreams of aspiring writers.

10,00,000

At Booksthakam Foundation, we believe in enriching minds by donating books worth ₹10 lakhs to schools in need. These books help build vibrant libraries, encouraging students to cultivate a habit of reading and explore diverse ideas. Through your support, we can ensure that no child is deprived of the joy of reading.

10,00,000

We recognize the struggles faced by writers on their journey to publish and sustain themselves. With over ₹10 lakhs contributed, we provide essential financial assistance to deserving writers for their writing, publishing, and other related needs. Your donations can empower writers to overcome financial barriers and pursue their literary dreams.

100

We celebrate the spirit of young talent by recognizing 100 aspiring authors every year. Out of these, 10 exceptional young authors will receive full publishing contracts along with job opportunities to secure their future. Through these efforts, we aim to motivate the next generation of storytellers and ensure their work reaches readers nationwide.
